Glentoran Football Club will continue a series of price promotions for its Match Day Family Festival at the Oval for the upcoming fixture against Ballymena United on Saturday 24 March.

The Match Day Family Festival – organised by the ‘Our Club, Our Community’ Programme – is aimed at encouraging families and young football fans to attend the matches, and help create a welcoming and family friendly atmosphere at the Oval.

Glentoran hosted its first Match Day Family Festival on Saturday 25 February and welcomed many new faces to the Oval, as families and young people took advantage of the price promotions and pre-match/half-time activities to enjoy the match day experience.

The price promotions will include ‘Kids for a Quid’ that will entitle all under 16s entry for £1, with all under 11s gaining free entry when accompanied by an adult. A ‘Mum & Child’ promotion will entitle mums to bring up to two under 16 children for the concession price of £7.

The club has also distributed complimentary tickets to local Primary Schools aimed at encouraging children to attend the games. A limited number of local junior teams and youth organisations will also get the opportunity to attend the matches free of charge.

The Family Festival will also include a wide range of pre-match and half-time activities, including Inflatables Games, Face-Painting, Balloon Modelling, Cheerleaders, Cage Football and a Half-Time Football Demonstration.

Russell Lever, Community Relations Officer at Glentoran, said: “We hosted our first Match Day Festival at our last league match at Oval and it proved to be a huge success in attracting families and young people to what was an exciting and entertaining game.

“We are hoping that the range of price promotions and match day activities will continue to attract families and young people to our next game, and help re-create the family friendly and welcoming atmosphere that was evident at the match.”
