Commercial and advertising opportunities at YOUR club!

Thu, 24/07/2014 - 13:39

I have been in my position of Commercial Director for just a few weeks and during that time I have spoke to many of my friends at The club, friends outside The club, the players and management and Directors, and many of you have lots of different ideas on how I should go about my role, and of course I have my own. Even my little girl has been coming up with plans on how we can all help OUR Club!

One of the plans that was mentioned by a long time Glentoran Fan, is to set up a "200 Club". Other Irish League Clubs currently run very successful "200 Clubs" so we will be starting our own soon. Details will be released soon.

Last week, we successfully sold off Car Parking spaces that were free within the Oval on match days and managed to raise the Club much needed funds for every day expenses. These every day expenses have been cut dramatically over the last number of years but with attendances dropping, season tickets sales not as strong as they once were and support from local businesses for match, match ball sponsors and pitchside advertising dwindling, it's becoming increasingly difficult to survive. I am hoping to increase all off these points, but I need your help!

We have many different opportunities for potential sponsors available, ranging in price from only £150 (match ball sponsor) to £950 (pitchside advertising boards) and £250 (match sponsor) to £3500 (associate Kit Sponsor). If you know of any friends, family or businesses who would possibly be interested in advertising or sponsoring Glentoran, please pass my details on (details below) and they can contact me at anytime. There will be various plans available with any sponsorship package that would involve prospective sponsors using the club website or social media outlets for promotion opportunities.

All the Glentoran Directors would like to make ourselves available to all Glentoran Supporters Clubs to attend one of your meetings to discuss a range if topics that you may have about OUR club. I personally, would like to attend at least one meeting for each supporters club each year to discuss ideas and plans we both have. You can contact me at anytime I discuss further.

I'm sure your all looking forward to the new season and hopefully we can pick up where we left of at the end of last season, for now more than ever, we need to get behind the players and management and show our support to them from the first game of the Season.

I hope to see you all at our forthcoming friendly matches this weekend against AFC Sudbury on Saturday and Scottish Premiership outfit, Partick Thistle on Sunday.

Regards
