We are delighted to announce that Glentoran Academy is a finalist in the inaugural Eastside Awards.
This is a great honour for the Academy and a great tribute to all of those coaches, parents and other volunteers who freely give so much of their time to ensure our Academy remains the premier Football Academy in Northern Ireland. Glentoran Academy is a one of three finalists in the category devoted to Contribution to Sport (sponsored by Charles Hurst and Fleet Financial).
The other finalists are the City of Belfast Boxing Academy and East Belfast FC. Jonathan McAlpin, chief executive of East Belfast Enterprise, who is the brain behind Eastside Awards, said: "We're thrilled at the response to our inaugural awards." Stephen Patton, human resources manager at George Best Belfast City Airport, said: "We are delighted to be sponsoring the inaugural Eastside Awards, which were developed to celebrate the very best of east Belfast." The fact that the Glentoran Academy is a finalist in the inaugural Eastside Awards is an honour of which everyone at the Oval is very proud”.
