Supporters may be aware that the IFA announcement this week on the granting of Domestic and UEFA licenses for 2016/17 that Glentoran has been effectively fined £250 for "failure to have club representatives attend the session in respect of UEFA stipulated criterion S.08, Refereeing Matters and Laws of the Game".
This seminar was a football matter and the person requested to attend on behalf of the club has apologised sincerely for the oversight in failing to attend and has indicated they are prepared to recompense the club for the financial penalty resulting from it.
The Board of Directors fully understands the impact of unnecessary fines on the club's financial strength. We have already suffered significant financial penalties for supporter behaviour this season and are happy that this IFA penalty will not impact negatively on the club.
