The PSNI have provided the following information for our Danske Bank Premiership game v Linfield on Boxing Day.

Glentoran Fans travelling to the Danske Bank Irish Premier League match at the National Stadium (Windsor Park) for the 3pm kick-off on Monday 26th December 2016 are requested to move to and from the National Stadium using Stockman’s Lane Roundabout / Boucher Road. Entry to the North Stand will be via the turnstiles/ gate on Boucher Road.

Those travelling by car are requested to move to and from the Stadium using Stockman’s Lane/ Boucher Road and park in the commercial areas off Boucher Road.  Motorists should consider local business and emergency vehicle access when deciding where and how to park.  Once parked, supporters should use the laneway to the Stadium opposite the Ford car showroom.

Those travelling by Bus/ Coach are also requested to move to and from the stadium using Stockman’s Lane/ Boucher Road and park the coaches/buses in the Apollo Road area.  Buses can lie up there for exit and fans should use the laneway to the Stadium opposite the Ford car showroom.

Those travelling by train should leave the train at Adelaide Halt and move to/from the Stadium via Apollo Road/ Boucher Road using the laneway to the Stadium opposite the Ford car showroom.

Police are reminding fans that there are specific offences created by the Justice Act NI 2011 in relation to soccer matches:

  • Possession of Fireworks/ Flares etc
  • Throwing Articles capable of causing injury
  • Going on to the Playing area
  • Sectarian Chanting
  • Drinking on Passenger Carrying Vehicles

In addition all fans are reminded that the areas around the Stadium are “No Street Drinking” zones under Belfast City Council By-Laws.  Any Street drinking taking place will be dealt with and any alcohol found seized.

Any public indecency offences such as urinating in public will be robustly dealt with.

Maximum Use of CCTV, Landrover Roof Top and Hand Held Video Evidence Equipment will be made both inside and outside the Stadium as part of the Policing Operation Criminal Justice Strategy in an effort to deal with any offences which come to light.

Police will take all steps to identify and deal with anyone who has been or is committing offences.

It is important for supporter and community safety that these instructions are complied with and that the impact of the event on the local residential and business communities is minimised.

It is hoped that a common sense approach to the afternoon will be adopted and the occasion enjoyed by all.
