Shamrock Rovers v Glentoran

Sun, 23/02/2014 - 19:32

Glentoran travel to Dublin on Monday to face holders, Shamrock Rovers in the opening round of this year's Setanta Sports Cup.

Approximately 350 - 400 supporters are expected to travel to Dublin and we have been advised that they should join the M50 just south of Dublin Airport. Travel around the M50, exiting for Tallaght at the N81.

Glentoran FC played in the very first Setanta Sports Cup game when they faced Longford Town in the 2004-05 season, winning 2-1 at the Oval. This season we become the only side to have played in every year of the competition with our best season coming 6 years ago when we finished runners-up to Cork City. Our last 3 trips to Dublin in the Setanta Sports Cup have all ended in draws (3-3 v St Pats in 2008, 1-1 v Bohemians in 2010 and 0-0 v St Pats in 2013) and manager, Eddie Patterson will be hoping for something similar again this year.

Glentoran FC would request that all fans travelling to the game do not engage in any behaviour that would damage the club's reputation, be respectful to our hosts and follow the instructions of the Stewards and Garda at all times. Enjoy the game.
