With Jason Hill, Jimmy Callacher and Andrew Waterworth all missing through injury it was a much changed Glentoran side which took the field at Drumahoe to face Institute in the Irn-Bru League Cup.
Goalkeeping coach, David McClelland, met with Eddie Patterson at training last night and tendered his resignation. The club would like to place on record their thanks and appreciation for David’s 6 years service at Glentoran FC and wish him all the best for the future.
Glentoran Seconds have made an excellent start to the season and suffered just one defeat since they got underway in August. In the IFA Reserve League they are behind Ballinamallard United II's on goal difference but have an all important game in hand. (League table HERE)
Glentoran club captain, Colin Nixon, discharged himself from the Royal Victoria Hospital A&E Department last night as there was a 9 hour waiting time. Following an x-ray at the Mater Hospital today it has been confirmed that his nose was broken in the clash with Crusaders player, Timmy Adamson. Colin will require surgery but has told manager, Eddie Patterson that he intends to play on until the surgery date is confirmed.
Glentoran struggled to match recent performances this afternoon in their Danske Bank Premiership match at Seaview against Crusaders and eventually succumbed to a 2-0 defeat. After a reasonably bright start, The Glens were hit by a long ball over the top which was finished by Jordan Owens on the 7th minute. The Glentoran defence will be disappointed to see a long ball get over the top so easily but nobody can deny credit to Owens who finished powerfully and accurately in off the post.
DESIGNED BY SUPPORTERS, CHOSEN BY SUPPORTERS, MADE BY SUPPORTERS…THE KUKRI GLENTORAN 130TH ANNIVERSARY SHIRT GOES INTO PRODUCTION.

Glentoran Academy hosted the Manchester United Academy on October 3rd at the Oval. This was a night in which a mixture of our U15 & U16 squads had the chance to test themselves against one of the best club academies in the world.
After a good start, Glentoran then found themselves pegged back and defending deep, the Manchester United attackers always on the move and probing at the Glens back four, but they held firm along with two brilliant saves from Morrow.
