JANUARY 200 CLUB WINNERS
An entertaining affair at the Bet McClean Oval this evening finished 2-2, ultimately a very disappointing finish for Glentoran. . The adage of a game of two halves has never been more appropriate; Glentoran will rue their second half performance after cruising to a 2-0 half time lead. With Cliftonville forcing an equaliser deep inside second-half stoppage time, Glentoran will feel this represents two points dropped.
A message from the Club Chairman.
Firstly, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support towards our beloved club. I am reaching out to you today to seek your help.
Tuesday 6th January
Kick Off 7.45pm
Glentoran supporters will be looking for a continuation of our current good form tomorrow night when third placed Cliftonville visit the Bet McLean Oval for our third meeting this season and game 26 in the Sports Direct Premiership.
In tomorrow's Glentoran Gazette Warren Feeney reflects on a mixed season partly defined by long-term injuries to some key players and prepares to welcome to the Oval the team he has dubbed the best in the league. In another 40-page programme which features graphic artist Beth Stafford’s cover of Jonny Russell, Terry Devlin updates Matthew Brown on his progress at Portsmouth. Philip Stevenson looks behind the Green Door in the grandstand and the 1923 Committee, publishers of the match programme, tackle the issue of sin bins.
Glentoran Football Club was sorry to hear of the sad passing of lifelong Glenman, Gary Cowan.
Gary joined the Ballymacarrett Glentoran Supporters Club as a teenager at its founding in 1975. Sadly, Gary will not be with his club to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.
Following last night's 6-1 win at Ballymacash, we have been drawn to play Ballyclare Comrades at the Bet McLean Oval in the Quarter Final of the Clearer Water Irish Cup.
The quarter finals will be played on the weekend of 2nd March 2024. Further details to follow.
Glentoran comfortably overcame a potential banana skin in Lisburn this evening to qualify for the Quarter Final of the Clearer Water Irish Cup.
The club is very pleased to announce that Rhys Walsh has signed for Sky Bet Championship club Sunderland.
Rhys (17) is the perfect example of a Glentoran Academy graduate, having joined the academy as a 10-year-old and developed through the ranks to make his first team debut last season in a 4-1 away win over Ards in the County Antrim Shield. Since then Rhys has made 8 appearances in total, most recently in last week’s Shield Final at Seaview.
Friday 2nd February

Tomorrow evening we travel to Lisburn to face Ballymacash Rangers in the sixth round of the Clearer Water Irish Cup. This will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides.
